Biography

Marcel Melthérorong was born in 1975 in Nouméa. His family were from Vanuatu. He had some trouble with the law in New Caledonia and then moved to Vanuatu. He lived on Malakula where his family were from. He learns the local customs and becomes involved in the local culture. He becomes involved in organising cultural events. He becomes interested in music and forms two groups. He writes two novels, the first being the first novel written by a Vanuatan writer. The second edition has a foreword by French Nobel Prize winner J. M. G. Le Clézio.
