Thomas Hürlimann
Biography
Thomas Hürlimann was born in Zug in 1950. His father was a member of the Swiss Bundesrat (Federal Council). He studied philosophy at Zurich and Berlin universities but did not finish his studies, in order to become a full-time writer. Though he started by publishing a collection of stories, he moved to drama, after working at the Berlin Schiller Theatre, before returning to Switzerland. Much of his work is concerned with modern Swiss history.
