Mithu Sanyal
Biography
Mithu Sanyal was born in 1971 in Düsseldorf. Her mother was Polish and her father Indian. She studied German and English literature at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. For her thesis she wrote about the cultural history of female genitals, published as a book Vulva – die Enthüllung des unsichtbaren Geschlechts. She has since written radio plays and books on sexual politics, identity and racism. Two of her books have been published in English.
