Biography
Jean-Marie Blas de Roblès was born in 1954 in Sidi-Bel-Abbès, Algeria. His family later returned to France, where he studied philosophy at the Sorbonne and history at the Collège de France. He later taught French in Brazil and then became director of the Maison de la Culture Française at the University of Fortaleza. He later went to China, featured in his first collection of stories, and then Palermo and Taiwan. He gave up teaching to concentrate on writing, though he was involved in an underwater exploration expedition in Libya. He also is responsible for the Archaeology collection of the publisher Edisud.
