Emmanuel Carrère

Biography

Emmanuel Carrère was born in Paris in 1957. He graduated in politics from the Institut d’études politiques de Paris and then taught French in Indonesia. He was a film critic and his first book was on Werner Herzog, before publishing his first novel in 1983. His later works were novelised works of non-fiction subjects. He has also written film and TV scripts of his own works and the works of others.
