Laurent Binet
Biography
Laurent Binet was born in 1972 in Paris. He studied literature at university and worked as a French teacher. He taught French at a military academy in Slovakia, where he also translated a collection of Czech poetry. After having written a surrealist work and then a book about his experiences as a teacher, he published HHhH (HHhH), a novel about Reinhard Heydrich, which had considerable success. A later book (link in French) is about the campaign of French president François Hollande. It was alleged that he helped Valerie Trierweiler, Hollande’s former mistress, to write her memoirs, but he denies it.
