Biography

Sunjeev Sahota was born in 1981 in Derby. His paternal grandparents had emigrated from the Punjab. He studied at maths at Imperial College, before going to work for the marketing department of Aviva. He had not read a novel till he read Salman Rushdie‘s Midnight’s Children at the age of eighteen.

He was nominated to the Granta’s Best Young British Novelists list in 2013.
