Masahiko Shimada
Biography
Masahiko Shimada was born in Tokyo in 1961. The family later moved to Kawasaki. He studied Russian at Tokyo University, where he started writing, winning the 1983 Kaien Prize for New Writers. He has since gone to write several novels, often from a left-wing point of view. He has also been a professor at Hosei University.
