Hamid Ismailov
Biography
Hamid Ismailov was born in 1954 in Kyrgyzstan, near Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He left Uzbekistan for political reasons in 1992 and came to England. He joined the BBC World Service and became head of their Central Asian Service. His work is still banned in Uzbekistan.
