Biography
Mahmoud Shukair was born in1941 in Jabal al-Mukabbar in Jerusalem. He took a BA in Philosophy and Sociology from Damascus University in 1965. He was a member of the Palestinian National Council. He was the editor-in-chief of several Arab newspapers and magazines. He has written many short stories, novels for adults and children, biographies and works for theatre and TV. His works have been translated into many languages, including two novels into English.
