Stephen Schneck
Biography
Stephen Schneck was born in New York in 1933. After leaving the Carnegie Institute of Technology, he traveled around Mexico and Central America. In 1960 he allegedly founded the American Beauty Studios, on 42nd Street, New York. He subsequently moved to San Francisco, where he wrote his best known novel, The Nightclerk. He also had a career as a film actor and a scriptwriter and wrote for Ramparts and Mother Jones. He died in 1996.
