Mario Bellatin
Biography
Mario Bellatin was born in Mexico City in 1960 to Peruvian parents. He was born with a shortened right arm. The family moved back to Peru when he was four. He studied theology and then communication studies at the University of Lima. His first novel was published in 1986 and in the following year he went to Cuba to study film. He returned to Peru for two years before going back to Mexico. He has written many novels and short stories.
