Helena Parente Cunha
Biography
Helena Parente Cunha was born in 1929 in Salvador, Bahia. She studied literature at the Universidade Federal da Bahia. She then went to Perugia to study Italian language, literature and culture. She came back to Rio de Janeiro where she started as a translator and then followed an academic career, taking a doctorate in Italian literature in1976. She has written novels, stories and poetry. One of her novels has been published in English.
