Bernardo Carvalho
Biography
Bernardo Carvalho was born in 1960 in Rio de Janeiro. He studied journalism at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro and later a master’s from the Escola de Comunicações e Artes da Universidade de São Paulo, with a thesis on the film director Wim Wenders. He initially worked as a journalist in São Paulo, New York and Paris and his first two books were published in France. He has written a collection of stories and several novels, two of which have been translated into English. Not to be confused with the Portuguese author Bernardo P. Carvalho.
