Alcides Arguedas
Biography
Alcides Arguedas was born in La Paz in 1879. He took a degree in law and politics. He was a diplomat for much of his life, representing Bolivia in various countries, later going into politics and being elected to parliament and becoming head of his party. As well as writing novels, often showing sympathy to the plight of the native Americans in his country, he wrote several works of history. He died in 1946.
