Alain Mabanckou
Biography
Alain Mabanckou was born in 1966. He grew up in Pointe-Noir. After studying law at the University of Marien-Ngouabi, he obtained a scholarship to go to France, where he completed his law studies. He worked for Suez-Lyonnaise des Eaux for ten years, before becoming a full-time writer. He taught at Ann Arbor before becoming a professor at the University of California. He has written novels and poetry.
