Ondjaki
Biography
Ondjaki was born Ndalu de Almeida in Luanda in 1977. He studied sociology at the University of Lisbon, and wrote his thesis on the Angolan writer Luandino Vieira. He then took a doctorate in African studies in Italy. He subsequently studied six months at Columbia University, New York. He has since written novels, poetry, plays, stories and children’s books. He currently lives in Rio de Janeiro
