Nabile Farès

Biography

Nabile Farès was born in 1940 in Collo, Algeria. He studied sociology in France, obtaining a doctorate and a master’s in philosophy and psychoanalysis. He was appointed lecturer at the Stendhal University in Grenoble. He later became a professional psychoanalyst in St Denis and Paris. He taught and wrote articles on the subject. He wrote numerous works of fiction , poetry and essays, usually dealing with Algeria, including French colonisation, decolonisation, the violence in contemporary Algeria and religious, linguistic and ethnic issues. He died in 2016.
