E. Annie Proulx
Biography
Proulx was born in Norwich, Connecticut in 1935. Her father came from a French Canadian family. She spent thirty years in Vermont, where she was married three times and has three sons and a daughter. She also lived in Newfoundland. In 1995 she moved to Wyoming, where she now lives. She has been writing for a long time, but mainly articles relating to gardening and plants. Her success came in 1995 with the publication of The Shipping News, a novel about the hardships of life in Newfoundland.
