David Markson

Biography

David Markson was born in 1927 in Albany, NY. He spent two years in the army and then got a B.A. from Union College in Schenectady. He wrote his thesis on Under the Volcano and became friends with Lowry. He taught at various colleges and had some commercial success with The Ballad of Dingus Magee which was made into a film, though is now known as an unreconstructed post-modernist. He died in 2010.
