Mohammed Hanif
Biography
Mohammed Hanif was born in Okara in 1965. Like the hero of his novel, A Case of Exploding Mangoes, he attended the Pakistan Air Force Academy but left to become a journalist, working for the Washington Post and Newsline. He subsequently worked for the BBC, becoming head of their Urdu service, before returning to Pakistan. He has written stage and radio plays as well as a a film for the BBC.
