Declan Lynch
Biography
Declan Lynch was born in Athlone in 1961. He studied law but then dropped out and studied English at University College, Cork. He worked as a journalist for Hot Press and took up the drinking that would form the background to his novel The Rooms. He wrote a highly controversial article for an Irish newspaper, virulently attacking the Irish language and associated it with sexual abuse. He has worked as a journalist, has written novels and works of non-fiction and had a play, Massive Damages, produced in Dublin.
