Biography

Tsering Yangzom Lama was born in 1984 in Kathmandu. Her family fled Tibet in 1960 after the Tibet uprising of 1959. She was born and raised in a Tibetan refugee community in Nepal before immigrating to Canada and then the United States. She received a B.A. in creative writing and international relations from the University of British Columbia and an MFA in writing from Columbia University. She has written one novel (in English) based on her own experiences and the experiences of her family.
