Generación Cero [Generation Zero]
Generación Cero [Generation Zero], also known as Generación Año Cero [Generation Year Zero], is a Cuban literary movement though not a formal one. Indeed, many of those associated with it reject the label and consider themselves as separate from the group. It consists of writers who started publishing in the 21st century though they have a variety of themes and approaches. However, the settings tend to be urban and involve individuals or small groups and they tend to be set in the present time and deal with current issues.
Key figures include Orlando Luis Pardo Lazo,1 Ahmel Echeverría and Jorge Enrique Lage and Lizabel Mónica.
