Maurizio Maggiani
Biography
Maurizio Maggiani was born in Castelnuovo Magra in 1951. He worked at numerous odd jobs, then he took up literature and journalism, publishing his first novel in 1989, an autobiographical work, though his first real success came in 1995 with Il coraggio del pettirosso [The Courage of the Robin], translated into various languages, but not English. As well as novels, he has collaborated on an opera and written books on travel and history He was initially close to the anarchists but has moved away from them in recent years. None of his work has been translated into English.
